Case Statement
Since its inception in 2002, the Prince Theatre
Foundation has enjoyed success in various community endeavors:
-
producing top of the line theatrical
and musical productions such as the 8x10 series of 10-minute
plays, Songs for a New World, Wit, Company, and
Route 66,
-
providing quality educational,
enriching experiences in the arts for children and adults, such as
Pinocchio, A Chestertown Attic, and Stories of Our Elders,
-
partnering with over a dozen community
organizations for fundraising and other events that benefit us all.
Both the theatre and the Foundation that calls it
home are recognized and valued as a unique community center for the arts
on the Upper Eastern Shore.
The current owners of the Prince Theatre, after
many years of generous financial support, want to sell the building.
They have offered to continue that support by selling the building to
the Prince Theatre Foundation at a price well below its appraised market
value. Accordingly, the Board of the Prince Theatre Foundation has
authorized a Capital Campaign that will enable it to:
To accomplish these objectives, we need your
support.
With a successful Campaign, the next few years can
be extraordinary for the performing arts on the Upper Eastern Shore.
Your participation in this Campaign will be critical to that success.
We must act now and work together to ensure the future of the Historic
Prince Theatre as a center of cultural and community activity on the
Upper Eastern Shore.
Please help in any way you can to keep the
Prince Theatre alive. For more information, contact John
